I'm sure that nurses always prioritize their abilities and professionalism
Jakarta Vice Governor Ahmad Riza Patria attended the Inauguration of the DPW Management for the Indonesian National Nurses Association (PPNI) Jakarta for the period 2022-2027 at the Jakarta City Hall, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday (3/16).
He urged PPNI as a nursing professional organization to always collaborate to improve public health services in Jakarta, to realize the Jakarta Sehat program.
Time to Fight Covid-19 Harder, Jakarta PPNI Says"Healthy residents will contribute to the health of themselves, their families, communities, and the environment, including health workers. It is realized through the implementation of health services, including very important nursing services. This is a challenge and a demand for nurses to continue to provide the excellent service needed by every patient," he explained, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release, Wednesday (3/16).
Thereby, the implementation of nursing services must be carried out in a responsible, accountable, quality, safe, and affordable manner by nurses who have high competence, authority, ethics, and morals.
The success of the health sector development at the national level and in Jakarta is essentially influenced by the role and function of a nurse, both as an educator and also as a researcher who assists doctors, nurses in implementing nursing services, managers in the field of nursing services, and educational institutions.
"We must maintain the mandate to run this noble task with full attention, prudence, accompanied by a sincere heart and full of patience in serving patients. The Covid-19 pandemic has had an impact on the health sector which has spread to other sectors, such as the economy, and has even hit the small and medium-sized business industry sector in Jakarta. Various steps have been taken to speed up breaking the chain of the spread of Covid-19," he explained.
The existence of the nursing profession has also been comprehensively regulated in Law number 38/2014 on Nursing, to provide legal protection and certainty to nurses and the public in running their professional duties.
It is expected to increase the contribution of nurses in wider health services, spread to remote areas of the country, have an impact on improving the health and welfare of people throughout the country.
"I'm sure that nurses always prioritize their abilities and professionalism based on the code of ethics. The patient and their family will feel and hope their illness can be cured and recovered/healthy. That's why the doctors, nurses, and health care support staff in every health center, hospital, private hospital, and referral hospital are very important in caring for patients," he added.
At the same moment, he expressed his appreciation to health workers, especially nurses, including PPNI Jakarta members who work in health service units in Jakarta.
"Congratulations to those of you who have been elected as chairman and administrator of PPNI Jakarta for the period 2022-2027. Hope you can run the organization's mandate properly, full of responsibility and professionalism following PPNI's AD/ART and PPNI's Vision-Mission
